Lam Vascular & Associates Welcomes Jenna Wishnew, MD

At Lam Vascular & Associates, we are always focused on developing and investing in a group of vascular experts specializing in all areas of limb salvage. 2020 was a challenging year on many fronts, but as we move into 2021, we’re proud to announce a new beginning.

Jenna Wishnew, MD, recently joined the surgical team of Dr. Russell Lam at Lam Vascular & Associates. As a board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Wishnew brings significant experience in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), having served several years as Medical Director of the wound care and hyperbaric center at Methodist Richardson Medical Center for more than a decade before joining Lam Vascular & Associates. Under her leadership, the wound center was in “President’s Circle” in 2019, which is the top 4% of wound centers in the nation.

Here at Lam Vascular and specifically at The Vein Center, Dr. Wishnew will be treating patients with varicose veins, venous insufficiency and related wounds.

Dr. Wishnew received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed her residency training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and accredited by the American College of Surgeons.
A Perfect Fit
Dr. Wishnew and Dr. Lam were already collaborating on wound care cases when Dr. Lam asked her if she’d like to join his practice in a more permanent way.

“I really pride myself on patient care and so does Dr. Lam; I love taking care of people and have a wholesome and well-rounded approach on taking care of patients, and so does Dr. Lam. So that makes it a great fit.”

When she’s not helping patients overcome vascular and wound issues to restore their health, Dr. Wishnew loves to spend time with her close-knit family. With three brothers and a brand new baby nephew, family time is important to her. She also enjoys working out and has two fur babies she walks every day (a rescue dog and chihuahua). And when things return to normal, Dr. Wishnew can’t wait to hit the beach and go scuba diving.
